The Annual General Body Meeting of the ABC
Laughter Team, Manipal, held at the prestigious Hotel Tamboolam on the 26th of
July, 2023, was a resounding success. The event was attended by all the members
of the ABC Laughter Team, Manipal, who came together to celebrate the spirit of
laughter and camaraderie that has been the cornerstone of this team.
The meeting marked a significant milestone
in the team's journey, with the election of new office bearers. Shri Aelvoor
Sridhar Shetty and Shri Talloor Shivarama Shetty were chosen to lead the team.
Their election was met with unanimous approval, and there is a palpable sense
of anticipation for the fresh energy and direction they are expected to bring
to the team. One of their primary objectives is to inject new life into the
team by recruiting new members, as the existing members are advancing in age.
This initiative is seen as a crucial step towards ensuring the continuity and
longevity of the ABC Laughter Team, Manipal.
The evening was made even more memorable by
the generous hospitality of Shri Talloor Shivarama Shetty, the owner of Hotel
Tamboolam. His benevolence was on full display as he hosted the event and bore
the entire cost of the dinner. The members were treated to a lavish spread of
both vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies, accompanied by a variety of
drinks. This sumptuous feast was thoroughly enjoyed by all the members, adding
to the joyous atmosphere of the evening.
In the midst of the wonderful hotel ambience,
with the most courteous wait staff and stewards, the mouth-watering aroma of
the delicacies created a heavenly atmosphere. The Laughter Lords simply got
lost in the spirit of the energisers and the taste of the starters. The main
course climaxed the happy mood of the Lords. Each of the Lords expressed their
worthy experiences of being a part of the Laughter Team for the last 18 years.
The dinner arena resounded with countless laughter and lightning that just
inspired the spirit to live longer with still better health.
🔔The financial and activity report of the ABC
Team was eloquently presented by Secretary Shenoy Mam! We are in a very healthy
financial position with a fund balance of *XX000😊 (a confidential amount)! It wouldn't be
surprising if the amount reaches X,00,000 in the near future 😀. It's a great
fortune that we've achieved this while spreading laughter and joy ❤.
Major Radhakrishna, an esteemed member of
the team, proposed a vote of thanks. He expressed heartfelt gratitude towards
Shri Talloor Shivarama Shetty for his generous hospitality and towards all the
members for their active participation.

Laughter Team, Manipal, was not just a formal gathering, but a celebration of
unity, laughter, and shared commitment. The event, marked by Shri Talloor
Shivarama Shetty's magnanimity, the enthusiastic participation of the members,
and the exciting prospect of new leadership and members, set a positive and
hopeful tone for the year ahead.
We are thrilled to share the joyful celebration of "ಆಟಿಡೊಂಜಿದಿನ" (A Day in the month of
Ashada), which took place on 23rd July 2023 at Rajatharashmi, Narayanaguru
Sabhabhavana Anjaru, Hiriyadka. This incredible event was attended by the
members of Lions Club Hiriadka, members
of ABC Laughter Yoga Team, Manipal, and all the members of ABC Laughter Yoga
Ladies Wing, Manipal-Indrali. The day was filled with laughter, appreciation,
and recognition of outstanding achievements, all thanks to the able organizer,
Lion Balakrishna Shetty.
The Genesis of Joy:
"ಆಟಿಡೊಂಜಿದಿನ" (A Day in the month of Ashada) blossomed as the
brainchild of Lion Balakrishna Shetty, the esteemed founder member of ABC
Laughter Team, Manipal. His unwavering dedication to promoting laughter and
positivity within the community led to the conception and sponsorship of the
entire program. All the participants enjoyed the event.
Unveiling the Program:
The event commenced at 7:30 PM, with Major Radhakrishna
taking the stage to introduce the program's essence and its significance. He
shed light on the invaluable role played by Lions Club, as well as the
remarkable development journey of ABC Laughter Team since its inception in
2005. It was an opportune moment to reflect on the club's inception by Smt.
Shirin Panjwani and its grand inauguration by the esteemed Dr. Padma Rao, along
with the subsequent developments that shaped its growth.

Gratitude and Fond Remembrance:
During his address, Major Radhakrishna reiterated the pivotal
role of Shri Balakrishna Shetty in the development of the laughter club. He
expressed heartfelt gratitude for Shri Balakrishna Shetty's love, affection,
and unwavering support towards his friends. Additionally, Major Radhakrishna
acknowledged the invaluable contributions of Late Sheela, the wife of Mr.
Balakrishna Shetty, whose dedication played a significant role in the club's
advancement.
A Special Tribute:
Lion Balakrishna Shetty, in turn, extended heartfelt thanks
to the important personalities who have significantly contributed to his
personal development journey. He fondly remembered Late Dasanna and his wife
Mrs. Padmalatha Shetty for their unwavering support and encouragement.
Expressing deep gratitude, he also acknowledged the contributions of Shri
Rajmohan Shetty, Shri Karunakar Shetty, Mrs. Hema, Lion Ravindranatha Hegde,
Shri Prabhakara Shetty, father of his son-in-law Shri Vijayakumar Shetty, and
Smt. Bellippadi Veena, all of whom have been instrumental in his growth and
achievements.
A Remarkable Journey Recognized:
The highlight of the evening was the heartfelt felicitation
of Mrs. Pallavi M by Lion Balakrishna Shetty. This prestigious honor was
bestowed upon Mrs. Pallavi in recognition of her exceptional achievements and
significant contributions across various domains. Her academic brilliance, exemplified
by her qualifications in MCom, BEd, and PGDIT, is truly commendable. Notably,
her remarkable feat as the Top Scorer in the BEd Examination of Mangalore
University in March 2023, while studying at TMA Pai College of Education,
Udupi, reflects her dedication to academic excellence. Furthermore, her
recognition as the Best Outgoing Student of the BEd College, along with 15
special awards and prizes, adds to her list of accolades. Mrs. Pallavi's
professional journey has been equally inspiring. Having worked at distinguished
organizations such as Infosys, Hewitt Packard, Deutsche Bank, and Bank of
Baroda, she has showcased her skills and versatility in various domains. Mrs.
Pallavi's indelible impact as a Lecturer in Commerce & Management at
esteemed institutions like Poornaprajna College, Udupi, Bangalore International
School (Cambridge Course), and Trisha College of Management, Udupi, reflects
her passion for education. Beyond her academic pursuits, her sporting prowess
in badminton is truly noteworthy. With more than 90 badminton championship
titles at the district, state, and national levels, she stands as a symbol of
dedication and talent. Representing Karnataka State 12 times at the "All
India National Women Badminton Championships," she has showcased her
commitment to the sport, further highlighted by her Silver Medals in two
National Championship Tournaments. Mrs. Pallavi's success is beautifully
complemented by her role as a devoted family woman. Daughter of Smt. Gayathri
and Prof (Major) Radhakrishna, she is happily married to Mr. Pradeep, an
Investment Banker. Together, they are blessed with two wonderful children,
Pradyoth and Pallab, who bring joy and fulfilment to her personal life.

A Delightful Celebration:
Following the felicitation, the esteemed members of Lions
Club Hiriadka organized a delightful cake-cutting ceremony, celebrating the
joyful life of Shri Balakrishna Shetty. The event witnessed all the Lion Club
members participating in the celebration on stage, adding to the spirit of
camaraderie.

Major Radhakrishna, the compere of the program, beautifully
explained and demonstrated the transformative power of laughter. Through
engaging laughter sessions, he highlighted how fake laughter can be transformed
into natural laughter, bringing joy and positivity into our lives.
A Song of Laughter:
Shri Karunakar Shetty and the members of ABC Laughter Team
Manipal and ABC Laughter Yoga Ladies Wing, Indrali Manipal, delighted the audience
with a heartwarming laughter song. The lively performance brought smiles to
everyone's faces, resonating with the essence of the event.

Culminating with Delicacies:
The celebration concluded on a delightful note with the
guests enjoying a sumptuous feast, featuring a delectable spread of vegetarian
and non-vegetarian delicacies specially prepared to mark the occasion of "ಆಟಿಡೊಂಜಿದಿನ" (A Day in the month of
Ashada).
