The ABC Laughter Yoga group, Manipal, recently hosted a memorable event to celebrate the 75th birthday and Diamond Jubilee of their beloved member, Bommarabettu Karunakar Shetty. The day was filled with love, laughter, and joy as friends and family gathered to honour his remarkable life and achievements.
On April 23, 2023, the ABC Laughter Yoga members assembled at
the Basketball Court of MJC Grounds to share their warm wishes and admiration
for Karunakar Shetty. Alevoor Sridhar Shetty, one of the group's members, presented
Karunakar Shetty with a rose, symbolizing the love and affection that everyone
in the group holds for him.
The celebration continued with a beautifully crafted cake,
specially made for the occasion. As Karunakar Shetty cut the cake, he shared it
with everyone present, and sweets were distributed for all to enjoy. The
festive atmosphere was palpable as everyone rejoiced in the momentous occasion.
An Evening to Remember at Sea Bird Resort: The festivities
continued well into the evening at the scenic Sea Bird Resort in Belampalli
Village, Udupi. With Karunakar Shetty's 75th birthday being a significant
milestone, also known as the platinum celebration, family and friends gathered
to express their love, admiration, and gratitude.
Major Radhakrishna, the toastmaster for the evening, shared touching sentiments about Karunakar Shetty. He emphasized Shetty's dedication, commitment, love for nature and vegetation, as well as his contributions to the development of students, Rotarians, and fellow human beings. He also He also expressed gratitude for the invaluable support and contributions of his wife, Mrs. Hema Shetty, Retd.
